Company Overview

Monroe Group, Ltd. was founded almost 30 years ago by Stuart Heller with a management agreement for a single 81-unit property. Today, Monroe Group Ltd. manages a portfolio of 30 multi-family properties totaling 2,274 units. Its portfolio includes Project Based Section 8, Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and mixed-income developments in Colorado, Indiana, Texas, North Carolina and Missouri. Monroe Group, a privately held corporation, is headed by Heller as well as Hud Karshmer and Chad Asarch, who joined Monroe Group in 2004 and 2006 respectively.

Monroe Group believes that all people—regardless of their financial situation, age or abilities—deserve to live in clean, decent and safe homes and communities. Monroe Group is dedicated to improving communities by providing high quality affordable living alternatives. We operate under the following principles:

Provide excellent property management service to residents and property owners,

Promote neighborhood stabilization and revitalization efforts.

It is this philosophy that contributed to the company being named HUD Manager of the Year in 2004. In addition, one of its team members was named Community Manager of the Year by the Rocky Affordable Housing Management Association in 2006, and again in 2008.

Our careful and measured focus on unsurpassed excellence has enabled Monroe to double in size between 1998 and 2005, to double in size again in 2006, and again in 2007.
