| EAST CENTRAL TOWERS RESIDENTS RECEIVE CHRISTMAS WISH |
Date of Release: 12/23/2008 Fort Wayne, IN – The residents of East Central Towers received an early Christmas Wish this year through the 95.1 Majic FM Radio Station’s “Make a Wish” program. Upon hearing of the “Make a Wish” program, East Central’s Community Manager Tamara Frantom and Resident Services Coordinator Amy Solaro-Geraghty wrote a letter to the radio station telling of their resident’s needs for transportation and their wish to throw the East Central residents a holiday party. East Central Towers Apartments is located at 905 East Washington Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN and include 142 elderly units in the apartment towers and 24 multi-family town home units. All of the apartment units receive Section 8 affordable housing subsidies from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Because it is an affordable housing complex, many residents do not have cars and cannot afford transportation, making it very difficult for them to get to their doctor’s appointments and to the grocery store.
On December 22, Tamara and Amy received a call from Derk & Janet at 95.1. The radio station decided to grant their “wish” and partnered with General Motors of Fort Wayne who graciously donated $1000.00 towards transportation needs and Christmas meal for the East Central residents.
Upon hearing of their wish come true, Community Manager Tamara Frantom stated: "This ‘Make a Wish’ is a true blessing. We plan to purchase bus tickets each month and will reserve some of the funding for taxi fares for the residents. We will also have a Christmas ‘celebration of thanks’ meal for our residents. We love that the community was able to help our residents; this is something that will remain close to my heart.”
The East Central Towers Apartments are owned by Community Housing Concepts, a Denver-based non-profit organization. Community Housing Concepts (CHC) is dedicated to providing safe, decent, and affordable housing options for its residents and revitalizing low income communities. CHC owns thirteen low income communities, including Low Income Housing Tax Credit and Section 8 properties, with over 1300 units in five states. ### For More Information Contact: Diana Heinicke Community Relations Manager, Monroe Group Ltd CommunityRelations@monroegroupltd.com (p) 303-322-8888 |
